Master’s Degree or equivalent in social sciences or relevant fields.
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience at the national or international level. Experience in international or donor organizations will be an asset.
Under the overall supervision of the Deputy Representative/Officer In charge and direct supervision of the Programme Coordinator (PC), WEE, the Programme Officer will work with the programme team of the WEE Unit to support programme implementation and coordination and ensure high quality, consistency and accuracy of work.
The Programme Officer will work in close collaboration with staff in project offices in Punjab (Lahore) and Sindh (Karachi and Hyderabad), operations and programme staff in the Country Office exchanging information and supporting programme delivery.
The incumbent is expected to travel in the country as per programme requirements.
Summary of Key functions:
Provide support to formulation of programme strategies and implementation of the Annual Country workplan focusing on achievement of the following results
Provide effective support to management of the UNWOMEN WEE programme
Provide effective operational and administrative support and contribute towards efficient financial administration
Support knowledge building and knowledge sharing
Provide support to formulation of programme strategies and implementation of the Country Annual Work plan focusing on achievement of the following results
· Support presentation of background information for implementation of UN WOMEN WEE programme including drafting of project documents, annual work plans, budgets, proposals on implementation arrangements.
· Follow up and coordinate with programme teams in Punjab and Sindh on performance indicators/ success criteria, targets and milestones, preparation of donor reports, quarterly and annual reports
· Prepare concept notes, letters, proposals and project budgets as and when required
· Support PC in management of programme activities and ensure effective implementation and monitoring of WEE programme
· Support preparation of project development and Implementing Partners’ selection documents
· Support effective monitoring of projects under Fund for Gender Equality (FGE) and UN Trust Fund for Human Security (UNTFHS) implementing partners in Sindh and Khyber PakhtunKhwa (KP).
· Arrange and manage workshops and other events related to communication support for WEE programme
· Support to enhance coordination between UN agencies, public and private sector organizations at the Federal level to improve women’s access to economic opportunities.
