Secondary School Certification supported with University Degree
At least three years of progressively responsible job related experience in information technology or telecommunications or information management, such as, WAN/LAN networking, operating systems, telephone services, radio unit, web design, registry or similar. Some experience in client support, such as, a Help Desk or User Support Unit, web design team, telephone maintenance service, e-marketing group, hotline, or similar.
Within delegation authority, ICT Assistant will be responsible for following tasks
The IT Assistant reports to Head of Admin/Finance/ICT Within delegated authority, the Information Technology Assistant will be responsible for user support and the help desk in Karachi and responsible for the following duties.
Receive, configure, test, install and maintain standard clients systems such as computer and telecommunication hardware and software, VHF hand held devices, applications, telephony, training material, etc.
Abide by WFP standards while updating the images and installing software.
Assist in administering user access to systems, maintenance of clients systems and equipment by carrying out routine tasks, such as monitoring peripherals, running systems diagnostics, patch management and system optimization, removing viruses and bad data, etc.
First level support for the resolution of incidents / problems by managing the trouble ticketing application and responding to queries, identifying and forwarding issues when appropriated.
Assist in training and support of users of technology and systems such as meetings, databases, audio/videoconferences, trainings, workshops, networks, etc.
Focal person for Procurement of IT equipment and services, technical specifications, warranty claims; technical evaluations,
Issue monthly telephone bills to admin
Contribute in maintaining the IT spaces on Teamwork site, IT service catalog and software library
Participate in the deployment and support of all IT related projects and promote their usage
Assist Admin in the inventory and management of IT assets: electrical, radio, communication and computer related equipment, training material, etc.
Document ICT infrastructure for Karachi office.
Raise Staff awareness on corporate IT policies
Disposal of IT and telecom equipment
update the service catalogue and customize for PO's
Provide Inputs for IT Newsletter
Submission of monthly reports on IT activities to CO
Manage and maintain DR site for Karachi PO
Maintain all IT infrastructure at Karachi office including servers, switches, wireless network, firewalls, internet connectivity etc.
Perform Network security upgrade using WFP standard devices: Sonicwall and Ipanema
