Selected candidates will provide expertise for multiple projects.

Role Overview

  • Produce designs for controls and instrumentation for process, chemical and utility systems, and equipment for various BNI projects.
  • Contribute to the preparation of the C&I portion of P&ID’s, Mechanical Handling Diagrams (MHDs), Ventilation, and Instrument Diagrams (V&ID’s).
  • Contribute to the preparation of system descriptions.
  • Create instrument specifications, data sheets, logic descriptions, I/O lists, and provide input to the instrument database.
  • Develop logic using the following IEC 61131-3 languages: Function block diagrams, sequential function chart, and structured text.
  • Carry out the detailed design engineering tasks in a manner which is timely, cost-effective and to a professional standard.
  • Ensure detail design is in compliance with flowsheet and safety requirements.
  • Coordinate assigned work with other technical personnel as directed.
Basic Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college, or MS degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Familiar with or course work using industry wide Control Systems system calculation/design tools, such as instrument set-point calculation software, CAD 2D and loop designing software
  • Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug screen, and background check.
  • Have good oral and written communication skills as well as work well with others in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Codes and Standards
  • US Citizen or Possess the legal right to work and remain in the US without sponsorship.
  • EIT Certification
