15 People Dead in Thailand Boat Accident yesterday. Searching for missing passengers continued today. A boat carrying sacred Muslims sank on Thailand’s Chao Phraya river leaving at least 15 people dead.
District Governor said:
"Accident happened on Sunday afternoon near the old city of Ayutthaya, a popular tourist palce.A boat packed with pilgrims was returning from a mosque. It accidentally hit a marble bank due to heavy tides.The death toll is now confirmed at 15, with 11 people still missing".
Ayutthaya Deputy Governor Rewat Prasong also said:
“Fourteen people are still in hospital, the rescue operation still finding those missing people".
Media showed graphic footage of the misfortune of the accident as passengers were pulled from the water while rescuers attempted to saving injured people on the bank.
