• Sri Sri Ravi Shankar awarded with highest civilian award of Columbia on 24th June 2015. He awarded with ‘Orden de la Democracia Simon Bolivar en el grado de cruz Caballero’. He is the founder of International Association for Human Values, founded in the year 1997.

Sachin Tendulkar emerged as greatest Test player

• Sachin Tendulkar of India named as greatest Test Player of 21st Century as announced on 24th June 2015. Kumar Sangakkara of Sri Lanka placed at 2nd position while Adam Gilchrist of Australia is at 3rd position in the list of 100 best test players since the year 2000.

4 persons selected for Bhasha Samman

• K. Meenakshi Sundaram, Acharya Munishwar Jha, Charu Chandra Pande and Mathuradut Mathpal have been selected for Bhasha Samman given by Sahitya Akademi on 24th June 2015. Bhasha Samman was instituted in the year 1996.

World Investment Report 2015 released

• World Investment Report for the year 2015 released by United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) on 24th June 2015 under the title ‘Reforming International Investment Governance’. The event held in Geneva, Switzerland.

Zaheer Abbas became President of ICC

• Zaheer Abbas, the former Captain of Pakistan Cricket team, appointed as President of International Cricket Council on 24th June 2015 succeeded by Mustafa Kamal of Bangladesh While the Chairman of ICC is N. Srinivasan of India.

Six new IIM institutes will be open

• Six new IIM institutes will be open by the Government of India as approved by the Union Cabinet on 24th June 2015. Six IIM institutes will be open in Amritsar, Bodh Gaya, Nagpur, Sambalpur, Sirmaur and Vishakhapatnam.

Praful Bidwai died

• Praful Bidwai, the famous Journalist, died on 23rd June 2015. He wrote famous books namely ‘South Asia on a Short Fuse: Nuclear Politics and the Future of Global Disarmament’, ‘New Nukes: India, Pakistan and Global Nuclear Disarmament etc.

• 1^st Modern Anganwadi Centre of India launched by the Government of India on 24^thJune 2015 in Sonepat, Haryana. The Centre established under ‘Nand-Ghar Yojana’.

‘AMRUT’, ‘Smart Cities Mission’ and ‘Housing for All (Urban)’ launched

• Three scheme namely ‘Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and urban Transformation’ (AMRUT), Smart Cities Mission and Housing for All (Urban) launched by the Government of India on 25th June 2015.

Satnam Singh Bhamara drafted in NBA

• Satnam Singh Bhamara of India became 1st player of India to be drafted in National Basketball Association. He is the famous Basketball player of India.

ICICI Bank Ltd. cut its Base Rate from 9.75% to 9.70%

• The private sector Bank ICICI Bank Ltd. cut its Base Rate from 9.75% to 9.70% per annum. Earlier, State Bank of India cut its Base Rate to 9.70%. The CEO of ICICI Bank Ltd. is Chanda Kochhar.

Maharashtra became State Butterfly

• The State of Maharashtra became 1st State of India to have Butterfly namely ‘Blue Mormon (Papilio Polymnestor).

Rajasthan generate 1167 mw solar energy

• The State of Rajasthan became the topper in Solar Energy Generation in India after Gujarat. Rajasthan generate 1167 mw solar energy while Gujarat generate 1000 mw.

Ahmedabad Airport has Ground Based Augmentation System

• Ahmedabad Airport became 1st Airport in India to have Ground Based Augmentation System.
