The Federal Employees Benevolent & Group Insurance Funds (FEB & GIF) is the government department which covers all Federal Government employees and the employees of autonomous bodies and provides seven different benefits under the welfare schemes and provide government servants insurance coverage, Its Headquarter Located in BF Building, Block C-II Zero Point, Islamabad.
FebGif Welfare Schemes:
1- Monthly Benevolent grant: On medical retirement or on death during service or on death after retirement before 70 years’ age of the employee.
2- Burial charges: On death before 70 years’ age.
3- Marriage grant: On marriage of one child of serving retired and deceased employees.
4- Education stipends: for two children studying in intermediate or above excluding M.Phil/PhD. programs of serving, retired and deceased.
5- Lump sum grant: On invalid retirement.
6- Farewell grant: equal to one month pay on retirement after 25 years’ service.
7- Sum assured: On death during service.

Monthly Benevolent grant is provided to government employee when he or she
i. dies during service; or
ii. retires from service on medical grounds; or
iii. dies during retirement before attaining the age of seventy years.
Period of grant(from 4.9.1988)
The grant is paid for life to;
i. spouse;
ii. incapacitated employee;
for fifteen years or upto the age of seventy years of the employee which ever is earlier to;
other eligible family members as defined.
Burial charges i. dies during service; or
ii. retires from service on medical grounds; or
iii. dies during retirement before attaining the age of seventy years.
Period of grant(from 4.9.1988)
The grant is paid for life to;
i. spouse;
ii. incapacitated employee;
for fifteen years or upto the age of seventy years of the employee which ever is earlier to;
other eligible family members as defined.
An amount of Rs. 10,000 is paid to the families of employees who dies during service or after retirement. (Current rate is applicable on death after 21.04.2011)
Marriage grant
Marriage grant of Rs. 50,000 is paid on marriage of one child, irrespective of gender of serving, retired or deceased. (Current rate & conditions of admissiblity applicable on marriage after w.e.f., 20.04.2011)
Education Stipends
Paid for post matric studies excluding Phd. For term and condition rates for Academic year 2013-14

Lump sum grant :-
A Lump sum grant is paid to the employees on invalid retirement w.e.f. 01.01.2006 as per column 3 of the Fifth schedule, Presently from 1.12.2013 the rates of Lump sum grant ranges from Rs.150,000 to Rs. 390,000.
Farewell grant
Equal to one month pay on retirement after 25 years’ service.

i. Lump sum payment of sum assured is paid to the family of an employee, if he dies during service. The rates of sum assured ranges from Rs.350,000 to Rs. 1,000,000 w.e.f 1.12.2013
