No PSU Bank in B-schools Campus Placements

Despite shortage of manpower in public sector bank, PSU banks can't take part in any campus recruitment and the only to way to find manpower is by examinations like IBPS.

Last year Bombay High court directed Central Bank of India to not to hire employees via B-schools campus recruitments. Now Supreme court upheld the judgement of Bombay high court.

Impact of number of Vacancies

It is good news for candidates preparing for bank exams. Over last few years PSU had started recruiting Assistant managers, Credit officers and Investment managers from B-schools. This had impacted the number of available vacancies, thus the level of competition increased over time. After this judgement, there will be more vacancies for Specialist Officers exams specially Credit Officers.

Impact on Sikkim Manipal Programs

Bank of Baroda and IDBI conducts 1 year training program in collaboration with Sikkim Manipal university. These programs won't be effected by this decision as banks conducts exams to select candidates and they guarantee job to every candidate selected for the training program, so this procedure is out of the preview of campus placement. It is a "Self Financed training program"

Note : Bank of Baroda mentioned in the official notification that training fee will be returned after 5 years whereas IDBI didn't mention anything about refund.
