PEC Fails to Announce 5th, 8th class Complete Results 2014, www.mehnat.pk
Rawalpindi:02 April: Due to negligence of Punjab Examination Commission (PEC), the names of hundreds of primary class students were missing for the gazette, creating problems for the students their parents and teachers.
PEC on Monday announced the results of primary and middle class examinations 2014. However, in Rawalpindi district, the gazette results of hundreds of students are missing, Dawn has learnt.
“Yes, this is a serious issue, PEC remained failed to announce complete results of primary class. In gazette, hundreds of names of students are missing,” admitted Executive District Officer (EDO) Education, Qazi Zahoorul Haq.
Talking to Dawn, EDO said following the complaints of teachers and students, on Tuesday he took up the issue with PEC, Lahore.
“PEC’s concerned officers have assured me that they would issue all the pending or missing results within two weeks,” he added.
On Tuesday, teachers and parents could be seen visiting various education offices in Rawalpindi to get any information abut ‘missing’ result, but to no avail.
A senior officer of education department said that in many schools majority of students were not issued primary class result.
He said 65 students of Government High School DAV appeared in primary examination held under PEC.
But to everyone surprise, PEC issued result of only one student.
Meanwhile, the source further said that 10 girl students of Tarklam school appeared in examination but of them only one was issued the result.
Results of Islamia School Number 4, Dhamyal High School and MC School Amarpura are also missing from the gazette. While majority of students of Murree were also not issued results cards.
“This is a blunder of PEC…which has created problems for children, their parents and teachers,” said Raja Shahid Mubarik, President Punjab Teacher Union Rawalpindi.
He said that teachers of Rawalpindi also doubt the credibility of the result as hundreds of students have been declared failed in English papers. “We are failed to understand how a large number students could be failed only in English paper.”
He, on behalf of teachers community of Rawalpindi district requested Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif to take notice of the issue.
