KARACHI:March 13: Varsities in the country will allow admission to the students coming from terror-hit areas of Fata at minimum 40 percent marks in their previous degree. Previously the condition was set at 45 percent marks for admission. The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has dispatched letters to the heads of respective universities, asking them to relax the criteria of admission for Fata students. The letter citing the order of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, says the students were unable to prepare for their exams peacefully due to law and the order situation so the condition of admission for Fata students be relaxed to minimum 40 percent marks instead of 45 percent. Senator Abbas Khan Afridi had written a letter on the issues of Fata students.
