Group Health's Capitol Hill campus is an open, welcoming, and respectful community. Our medical center campus is located in the heart of Seattle in the scenic Capitol Hill neighborhood. This facility offers over 25 multi-specialty and primary care outpatient services and a limited service hospital to a diverse patient community.
The Administrator on Duty makes administrative decisions and provides direction, supervision and assistance with operational issues for a designated facility in the absence of managers during evening, night, weekend and holiday hours for direct and indirect patient care departments. Responds to urgent needs during designated hours. Manages float staff on a 24 hours basis.
Manages and leads nursing staff working alternative shifts (evenings, nights & weekends). Replaces and/or adds staff as needed, based on acuity and activity needs. Oversees other department staff in facility working alternative hours. Provides leadership, and empowers staff in achieving service excellence. Participates in multidisciplinary teams for planning, coordinating & problem solving to achieve processes to integrate services within GHC's continuum of care.
May support the Admissions department by providing & facilitating coordination & placement of patient admissions to a designated facility in evening & night hours and by responding to consumer questions. Maintains system paper flow to assure consistent payroll practices are in place and departments is within budget parameters
Assures the quality & competency of staff hired. Meets facility's performance evaluation measures. Remains current on collective bargaining agreements. Meets or exceeds facility service & clinical quality measures.
Qualifications
Experience Requirements
Minimum: 3 years experience in acute care and 1 year management or supervision experience within a nursing setting.
Preferred: Management experience in an acute care hospital.
Knowledge requirements
Preferred: Knowledge of staffing schedules and flow. State and federal regulations.
Education Requirements
Minimum: Associate's Degree (ADN) as Registered Nurse.
Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
Certification requirements
Minimum: Washington State RN license.
