These positions are for researchers/academics with a PhD in economics or related disciplines, who are committed to evidence-based policy research using rigorous methodologies. The core task of a Research Fellow is to develop, lead and undertake research projects and analysis in one of IDEAS' four research areas (public finance and fiscal federalism, human development, social exclusion and marginalisation, and political economy, governance and institutions). Additionally, Research Fellows must be entrepreneurial and adept at developing research partnerships, generating research funds, undertaking outreach and advocacies and disseminating research. Research Fellows also represent IDEAS at both internal and external events, at meetings with collaborating organisations and the government.
Qualifications: Candidates should hold a PhD degree in economics or a related field.
Experience: Two to three years' post-PhD experience and a proven record of publishing in professional or academic journals, edited volumes or other expert outlets are added advantages.
Other Skills: The ability to develop rigorous research projects in the Institute's areas of research that demonstrate a potential for significant academic and policy impact and the commitment and ability to contribute to the development of a not-for-profit organisation/think-tank.
