Masters degree or equivalent qualification in the field of Statistics, Mathematics or Economics
5 Years(Work experience with UN and/or an International organization along with previous reporting experience will be an asset)
Fluency in written and spoken English,Computer skills in Office Applications Including Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point and advance statistical tools including SPSSetc. Ability to work in teams and strong communication skills is required.
The candidate is expected to have an ability to work harmoniously with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.
Under the overall supervision of the FAO Representative in Pakistan, direct supervision of International Information Manager and in close collaboration with the Resilience Coordinator, Cluster Coordinator, Assistant FAOR (Programme) the Statistician will undertake the following duties:
Overall responsibility for data analysis and management
Lead in obtaining relevant data on food security, vulnerability, general socioeconomic profile etc from various sources
Design survey and sampling plan to ensure sound statistical validity of various surveys and assessments
Contribute to the designing of questionnaire for collecting food security related indicators from different surveys and assessments
Take lead role in training of enumerators, monitoring of field work, supervision of data cleaning and entry
Analyze the statistical data, interpret the results and contribute to subsequent reporting of the same
Visit field to collect data from primary and secondary sources whenever and wherever required. Monitor and ensure that efficient and required results are obtained from all the assessments/surveys
Work as a focal person in Assessment Working group and Assessment Technical team
Represent Food Security Cluster in coordinated assessments and surveys
Act as a facilitator in trainings related to assessments/surveys and information management
Assist the International Information Manager in routine work ofIM Unit
Structuring data/information according to the FAOrequirements
Coordinate with Government and line departments at federal and provincial level
Perform any other related duties as required
