The Bavaria was a model that was produced for only the US market like Bavariasportscars, and it was based on the 2500/2800/3300 series of sedans. The E3 was known as the E3 among BMW enthusiasts and shared the same underpinnings with the more expensive E9 Coupe. Though the E3 sedan was never meant to be a prized personal car, it was an important milestone in establishing BMW as a premier manufacturer of sporting sedans.
