WhatsApp services are currently impacted with most people currently unable to send stickers or media files to their contacts. Whereas, services seem to be completely shut for some users.
The services have been impacted since around 4:41 PM IST. Many users have taken to Twitter, complaining about the issue. #WhatsAppdown is currently trending on the platform.
People are able to send messages on the platform, however, people are not able to send media files, Gifs, voice notes and more. This happens when a particular server is down. The company seems to be working on the issue as in between sometimes, some images or files to tend to pass through and go to the receiver.
WhatsApp, which is the instant messaging app owned by Facebook has not provided any statement regarding this outage as of now. This is the first outage to impact the platform this year. To recall, last year we saw many outages of the platform take place for all Facebook-owned apps, including Messenger, Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp.
According to DownDetector, till now around 1,826 complaints regarding the platform being down have been reported by the users. 61 percent people have complained that they are unable to send or receive messages, 37 percent users state that they are facing connection issue, whereas, 1 percent state that they are unable to login to the platform.
