The Karakoram International University is a federally chartered public sector university located in the heart of Karakoram International University if Gilgit Baltistan. Since its inception in 2002 the university is servicing to provide higher education to the highly talented youth of the region at their doorstep. In order to expand scope and access to tertiary level professional education the higher education commission and planning commission of Pakistan have recently approved two PC1 projects entitled establishment of the engineering faculty Gilgit Campus and Youth of Gilgat Baltistan with knowledge and professional skills to play an effective tole in forthcoming developments related with the China Pakistan Economics Corridor.
