PSMA announces Public Holiday on Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain(a.s)

With rumors about 9th November being restored as a public holiday and Sindh Government announcing a day off on account of Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai, Pakistanis across the country are waiting to see if the Chehlum of Imam Hussain (RA) will also be declared a holiday or not.

Well, as per the announcement by Private Schools’ Management Association (PSMA) made on November 7th, there will be a holiday on 21st November 2016.

The Chehlum of Imam Hussain (RA) is observed on the 20th of the Islamic month of Safar and this year it will fall on Monday, the 21st of November 2016.
Police and rangers are likely to be put on high alert to ensure security on the two days in order to ensure the safety of all. Stringent measures of security may be taken before Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) Monday. It is still unsure if mobile services will remain suspended on the occasion.
