What is 139 PMA Long Course?

PMA is the abbreviation of Pakistan Military Academy which is the premier training institution of Pakistan Army. The cadets selected for commission in Pakistan Army are trained here. PMA also trained the cadets of our friend countries as Afghanistan, Libya, Saudi Arabia etc. It is situated in one of the best and most beautiful area of Pakistan i.e Abbotabad.

PMA Long Course shortly written as PMA L/C is the commission induction of Pakistan Army. The 139 is just a serial number and has no impact with selection. The number before the word PMA L/C is also used for identification as Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif was from 54^th PMA L/C.

Eligibility Conditions:

The following rules are applicable on the candidates;

1. Age:

Age is to be calculated on the May 1, 2017.

1	Intermediate or Equivalent 12 Years Education	17 - 22 Years 3 months relaxation in both upper and lower limit	The candidate must have born on or before 1st May 2000 and on/ after 1st May 1995 (normally) With relaxation replace May 2000 with August 2000 and May 1995 with Feb 1995.
2	Graduates (B.A / B.Sc) or 14 years Education OR Serving Personnel of PAF and Pak Navy	17 - 23 Years 3 months relaxation in both upper and lower age limit	The candidate must have born on/ before 1st May 2000 and on/ after 1st May 1994 For relaxation, replace May 2000 with August 1994 and May 1994 with Feb 1994.
3	Graduates (BS / BA Hons / BBA / BPA) or 16 years Education	17 - 24 Years	The candidates must have born on/ before 1st May 2000 and on/ after 1st May 1993
4	Serving soldier of Pakistan Army	17 - 25 Years	The candidates must have born on/ before 1st May 2000 and on/ after 1st May 1992

2. Gender:

Required gender is male. Females can't apply for PMA L/C.

3. Marital Status:

The candidates must have not married however serving personnel of the military/ armed forces whose age is above 20 years can apply.

4. Nationality:

Candidate must be the citizen of Pakistan and Domicile holder of Azad Kashmir / Gilgit Baltistan. The candidates with dual nationality have to surrender the nationality other than Pakistani if selected finally.

5. Physical Standard:

Minimum Height	5 feet 4 inch (162.5 cm)
Weight	As per Body Mass Index (BMI)
Chest	minimum 29 inch

Education:

1. Marks:

Candidates must have secured 60% or greater marks in F.A/ F.Sc or equivalent. Candidates who have 50% or greater marks in F.A / F.Sc are eligible if they have achieved 60% or greater marks in the B.A / B.Sc / B.Sc (Hons) / BBA / BPA etc.

Candidates who have completed Diploma in Associate Engineering (DAE) can also apply if have 60% or greater marks.

2. Marks Concession for Approved Areas:

Candidates who are the domicile holder of the following areas can apply on 55% marks also. For this, they must have study in these areas.

3. Marks Concession for Serving Soldier:

Serving Soldier of Pakistan Army have 10% concession in marks, they can apply with 50% marks also.

4. Verification of Marks Sheet (DMC) and Certificates:

Those candidates, who have duplicate DMC or Certificate or with revised marks or have corrected name, father name, Date of Birth etc. in any of the Matric, F.A/F.Sc or B.A/B.Sc must have to verify their DMC or certificate from the concerned board or university.
Candidates who have not issued the original certificate must have to get a Verification Certificate from the Secretary / Controller of Examination of the concerned board or university.

5. Equivalency Certificate:

Candidates with A Level education system are eligible to apply if they have passed their examination from Pakistan, however those who have passed their A level from abroad or have result less than three Cs must get an Equivalency Certificate by Inter Board Chairman Committee (IBCC) Islamabad.

6. Result Awaiting / Hope Certificate:

Result awaiting candidates can't apply on Hope Certificate.

Ineligibility Conditions:

The following candidates are not eligible to apply;

The candidates who are twice rejected (Not Recommended) by ISSB or GHQ/AHQ/NHQ Selection Board.
Candidates who are once rejected by ISSB and once by GHQ/AHQ/NHQ Selection Board.
Those who are declared Unfit by Appeal Medical Board.
Declared Unfit by Military Hospital except those get Fit by Appeal Medical Board.
Declared Unfit due to Hepatitis B & C.
Dismissed or Removed or Debarred from Armed Forces or any other Govt. Service.
Withdrawn from any academy or institution of Armed forces on any ground/reason.
Withdrawn from any bonded college or institution of armed forces on disciplinary ground.
Convicted in a court of law.

Registration:

Candidates can register online through internet and also by visiting Selection Center;

2. By visiting AS&RC:

If the candidate wish to register by visiting the Center then he has to go the respective Army Selection and Recruitment Center along with all documents and test fee.

Schedule:

Registration and tests will be held as per the following schedule;

Registration	10 October to 13 November 2016 (Including Saturday/Sunday and other holidays)
Test	21 November to 18 January 2017 (Saturday/Sunday and other holidays are not included)
Repeater Candidates	Repeater Candidates must report at their concerned Selection Center from 17 November to 20 November 2016

Selection System:

1. Initial Test:

First of all the candidates have to go through Computer Based Test conducted at the selected Centers on the given date and time.

2. Physical Test:

3. Initial Medical:

The candidates who pass the physical test will undergo the medical check up in which candidates will be checked if they are medical suitable or not.

4. Interview:

The candidates declared as fit in medical check up will be interviewed in which shortly some questions about self, family, education and general knowledge are to be asked.

5. ISSB Tests:

The candidates qualifying interview will be called for ISSB Tests. Read full details about ISSB here below;

6. Final Medical:

The candidates recommended in ISSB will undergo final and detailed medical check up at the nearest CMH, after that he will be pass through merit system. If got selected then will have to go for the training.

Training:

The finally selected candidates carried out training at Pakistan Military Academy Kakol Abottabad. There they will be stay for 2 years.

Documents Required at AS&RC:

The following documents are required and to be present at the test day in Selection Center;

Original Certificates and DMCs of Matric and F.A/F.Sc
Computerized National ID Card if above 18 years otherwise B-Form issued by NADRA
One Set of attested photocopies of the above mentioned documents
3 Passport sized color photograph attest on both front and back
Original and a photocopy of Not Recommendation Letter for Repeaters candidates

Abroad Citizens:

The Pakistan citizens residing abroad and who fulfill the criteria are exampted from preliminary tests. The candidates are advised to approach the Pakistani Embassy.
