
KARACHI: Senior police official Rao Anwar Friday threatened to quit police department in a protest against his suspension.
“I am waiting to receive my suspension orders. I may resign from police department as a protest,” Anwar said while speaking to media in Karachi.
His media talk comes a couple of hours after Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah guided Inspector General of police to suspend Rao Anwar.
The police official shielded capture of restriction pioneer in the Sindh Assembly Khawaja Izhar, saying that MQM Pakistan boss Dr Farooq Sattar ought to likewise be captured.
He said that there is a no need to take permission from Speaker of the assembly before arresting any member of the provincial or national assembly. -Media reported
