Arrest of Mardan varsity’s employees stayed

PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court on Wednesday issued a stay request halting the National Accountability Bureau Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from capturing and annoying eight present and previous authorities of the Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan amid the investigation into the charged abnormalities in arrangements to and utilization of assets and recompense of grants by the varsity.

The request was issued by a two individuals seat involving Justice Qaiser Rashid Khan and Justice Roohul Amin Khan.

Eight serving and previous authorities of the AWKUM, including previous enlistment center Professor Zahoorul Haq, had documented a request through attorney Arshad Ali for issuance of a request by the court to limit the NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from capturing and pestering them amid its request against them on different charges.

The legal advisor said the NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had captured Zahid Mehmood, director of the college, when he joined the NAB request on a ring notice issued to him in the college arrangements case.

He said his customers were completely collaborating with the NAB in investigation into the asserted anomalies in the college's grants, arrangements and subsidizes yet they dreaded to be captured amid request. Catch senior prosecutor Umar Farooq guaranteed the seat that the authority wouldn't capture the applicants in the event that they completely coordinated with it in the request in progress against the college.
