Renowned Malayalam writer Kakkattil passes away 

  • Noted Malayalam novelist and short story writer Akbar Kakkattil passed away at a private hospital. He was 62 and is survived by wife and two children.

  • The 2016 South Asian Games, officially the XII South Asian Games, is a major multi-sport event. India finishes on top with 308 medals including 188 gold, 90 silvers, 30 bronze medals.

Govt cuts interest rate on small post office schemes by 0.25%
