West Bengal Government approves the formation of 5 new districts
- West Bengal Government has approved proposal for formation of five new districts in the state. After 5 districts the total number of districts of Bengal will increase to 25.
- Five new districts are Kalimpong , Sundarbans, Basirhat,Burdwan (Industrial), Jhargram district
Renowned theatre artiste Chatla Sriramulu passes away
- Sriramulu had acted and directed more than 100 plays and wrote several books. His famous work is play ‘Maro Mahenjodaro’.
- Sangeet Natak Akademi Award (1982) and was awarded ‘Best Actor’ twice by Andhra Nataka Kala Parishad.

- Popular British Novelist Peter Dickinson passed away on 16 December 2015
- He was the first author to receive twice the prestigious Carnegie medal
Foundation stone laid for AIIMS near Vijayawada
- Health Minister JP Nadda today laid the foundation stone for the Rs. 1,620-crore 960-bed All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Mangalagiri near Vijayawada.
Axis Bank partners with eMudhra for e-signature facility
- Axis Bank Ltd has introduced e-signature services through which individuals having Aadhaar numbers will be able to digitally sign documents to submit to the bank online.
- Axis Bank has partnered with digital security company eMudhra for the eSign service.
