  • 12 Pacific Rim countries sign Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement on 05th October 2015. The countries are Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Brunei, Darussaleam, Japan, Canada, USA, Mexico, Peru, Chile, Australia and New Zealand. The agreement will cover 36% of the global economic output.

Nayantara Sahgal will return her Sahitya Akademi Award


  • On 06th October 2015 Nayantara Sahgal, Sahitaya Akademi Awardee in 1986, announced to returning her award to protest against the failure to safeguard the Indian cultural diversity. In 1986, she was awarded for English Novel ‘Rich Like Us (1985). She is the Niece of former PM Jawahar Lal Nehru. Earlier, Uday Prakash also announced to returning the Award.
