Fatima Effendi & Sanam Jung turned down Offers from B-Town

Recently, two popular faces of our small screens caught the limelight when they announced their decision of steering clear of Bollywood projects.
The awe-inspiring decision came after both the actresses, Fatima Effendi and Sanam Jung, were offered to shoot ‘bold’ scenes in Bollywood.
Effendi and Jung outright refused to take up the project as soon as they figured they will have to act in a ‘certain’ avatar.
According to Effendi who has been getting a lot of film offers both in the country and Bollywood, acclaimed director Anees Bazmi contacted her for a horror film. While discussing the film with her, he informed the Meri Zaat Zarra-e-Benishan star of a bold scene her character will be required to perform. And lo and behold! Effendi rejected the handsome proposal immediately asserting she wouldn’t ever involve herself in any activity which can put the name of her country and family on stake.
Similarly, Jung, who has lately stolen the hearts of many being an inspiring host of a morning show on HUM TV, said ‘Bollywood is out of the question’, as reported by Dawn.com, when the filmmaker asked her for a bold scene. What irked her more apparently was the filmmaker’s suggestion of ‘cheating’ the scene - something very similar to what was done to Fawad Khan’s kissing scene with Sonam in ‘Khoobsurat’, we suppose.
Being avid media buffs, what concerns us more is not these actresses turning down meaty offers but the question that what prompts Indian filmmakers to ask Pakistani actors especially females to do such undesirable scenes. Is it because they think that when one can do it, the rest of them can too or is it because they believe stars Pakistani stars are so desperate about working in B-town that they will do it at any cost? We can’t seem to figure out but we are definitely not happy with the Indian filmmakers way of approaching our stars.
