Performing with with DJ Chetas for the Royal Stag MTV Bollyland – which is a series of multi-city music concerts that see the fusion of popular Bollywood soundtracks with heady electronic beats - Aslam said he would keep on playing music.
“When it comes to music, there are no boundaries. I’m here to share love. I’m not doing anything wrong. Whatever I earn, I make sure to pay taxes,” Aslam said.
Prior to Indore’s concert Aslam was supposed to perform in Pune but the concert was cancelled due to severe opposition by Indian extremist political party Shiv Sena.
But this antipathy didn’t decrease his morale and he remains optimistic about his future in India. The Pakistani crooner also made it clear that he doesn’t have any grudges against anyone and he is there to promote love and peace.
The 32-year-old singer entered into Bollywood in 2005 with his hit number ‘Woh Lamhe’ and since then has lent his voice for dozens of Indian tinsel town heartthrobs including Shahid Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Varun Dhawan, Ritesh Deshmukh and Vivek Oberoi.
Aslam also added that Pakistanis have a lot of respect for Indian artists:
"If you come to my country, you will see that there is lot of respect for Lataji (Mangeshkar). People still listen to Rafi-ji's songs and people try to copy Kishore Kumar. Even Bollywood dance steps are followed by Pakistanis," he said.
