Karachi, Sindh chapter of the Federation of All Pakistan Universities Academic Staff Association (FAPUASA) decided to bring their concerns about the Higher Education Commission (HEC) for the position of Associate Professor new requirements expressed.
The officials will discuss with the authorities of the HEC controversial current Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology and the problems with Sindh Universities Amendment Act 2013.
This was decided at a meeting planned to complete the Sindh chapter FAPUASA in Karachi University Staff Club held Wednesday, the agenda for the next meeting with HEC February 6, Islamabad.
A delegation of three members of the Sindh chapter FAPUASA ensure that the public sector universities in the province and the demand for withdrawal of the applicable requirements of the HEC for the post of Associate Professor, from June 2015.
The delegation FAPUASA belong to their deputy Prof. Moiz Khan, also a board member of the Society of Teachers of the University of Karachi, Azhar Ali Shah Vice President Dr., University of Sindh, Jamshoro and Usman Ali Shah Chairman Prof. Dr., who is also the secretary of the NED University Association.
Under the new policy, teachers have had to wait five years you, while members of the faculty eight years to apply for the position of Associate Professor said Secretary FAPUASA Moiz Khan while talking to the news after the meeting.
He said if the new policy was implemented, had Ph.D. wait five to eight years, although he meets other criteria, including 10 years of teaching experience to Associate Professor with 10 research papers and 15 years of teaching experience with 15 papers for the post of teacher. He said that in 1999, the prerequisite for promotion to the post was eight to ten years have teaching experience at five research papers and a PhD was not needed.
"The criteria were revised in 2002-03. Ten years of experience, 10 scientific papers and PhD has been made compulsory for teachers to become a professor, and no one had any problems with the change. But it is proposed the policy, not be acceptable to "all conditions, he said.
The FAPUASA demand the HEC to remove these criteria "illogical" who did not follow follow anywhere else in the world.

Participants of the meeting expressed strong reservations about the role of the government of Sindh to higher education.
They said that several meetings with government officials over the Sindh University Act 2013., but the problems were not completed in accordance with the agreements.
They said the government delaying questions to get their own way.
They also expressed concern about the ongoing controversy in Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology, which she said was not favorably influence negatively the academic environment and students and teachers.
