Cotton varieties produce by IUB declare best
Bahawalpur: Punjab Seed Corporation (PSC) has two varieties Islamia University Bahawalpur cotton (UIB) has developed as first and second in studies with more than 46 varieties.
It is learned that the PSC has recently experimental studies with 46 varieties of cotton at its Khanewal agriculture agricultural area of about 100 hectares made (across the country).
Of the 46 varieties, both as IUB 13 (BT) and UIB-75 (non-BT) brand were explained first and second.
After IUB PRO Khalid Shehzad was alleged that while the experience of diversity UIB-13 produced 40 maunds of cotton in one hectare, while the yield per hectare of IBU-75 selection was recorded as 31.73 maund.
These two varieties of cotton had been developed earlier at the University of Agriculture IUB after repeated experiments and competing submitted entries.
The UIB claims that the two varieties have proved best for their competitive qualities in experiments and studies aimed at high temperatures, water the less necessary channel and high resistance to curl virus.
In these conditions, credit quality and the weather conditions, the two species are best suited for growing in many parts of southern Punjab, including the desert areas of the country.
