Science and Technology

  • On 16th August 2014, Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi will delivered INS Kolkata to Indian Navy. INS Kolkata will be the part of 44 warships. This is the first and largest made in India.

Business and Economy

  • Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi launched Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana on the eve of 68th Independence Day. This Yojana will help the poor people of India in the near future. 
  • China inaugurated the railway line in Tibet which is very close to Border of the State of Sikkim.
  • Reserve Bank of India will launched Rs.1000 note consisting the Rupee Symbol. 
  • The Government of India approved four highway projects in the State of Jammy and Kashmir. The four projects are Srinagar-Banihal, Qazigund-Banihal, Chenani-Nashri, Jammu-Udhampur. 
  • Bimal Jalan will be appointed as the Head of Expenditure Management Commission who is the former Governor of Reserve Bank of India.

  • Kush Kumar became the first Indian player to reach at semi-final of the World Junior Squash Championship. He is a professional Squash Player. The President of World Squash Federation is Cyrus Poncha.

Deaths

  • Burra Katha, the famous Folk Artist passed away. He is a Telegu art of oral story telling. Burra Katha is generally known as Jangam Katha.
