LHC extends date for NTS (GAT) to conduct university admission tests till September 30. ISLAMABAD, July 12: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has extended, till September 30, 2014, the cut-off date for admissions/scholarships to be decided on the basis of tests (GAT) conducted by the National Testing Service - Pakistan (NTS). Earlier, the LHC had decided that the Higher Education Commission (HEC) would propose an amendment in the law to provide for a proper regulatory statutory framework governing a testing service in Pakistan and that the existing arrangement between the HEC and NTS would cease to continue after May 30, 2014.
This interim decision has been passed on June 26, 2014 subsequent to the intra court appeal filed by NTS seeking extension in the deadline.
