The last two months have been particularly bloody for the militancy-wrecked Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. The Shergarh funeral attack and the massive jailbreak in Dera Ismail Khan paint a picture of doom and gloom in the province governed by Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
At the same time, JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, who appears to be hell bent to discredit the PTI administration, has also unleashed a fresh salvo of allegations against the party chief.

4- World Humanitarian Day: A safe school, a safer home
“I want these boys to dream, to be motivated and become good men,” says Sonia Shahid, 52, with the content smile of a proud mother tugging at her mouth.
Her face lights up even more as she appears from behind a flight of stairs and pauses to absorb the animated faces cozied up on a rug in front of the television, alert eyes oscillating between a cricket match and a cartoon show.

The PML-N government has the opportunity to get an immediate ceasefire from Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) stopping its operations throughout Pakistan in return for halting the execution of high profile convicts like Aqeel alias Dr Usman.
Such a move would also help set the stage for a result-oriented dialogue between the government and the TTP to achieve the much-awaited and direly needed goal of bringing peace to the terrorism-stricken people of Pakistan.
10- Govt succumbs to TTP threats?
Repeated warnings by the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan that the executions of jailed militants would compel the TTP to wage a war against the PML-N leadership seem to have worked, with the government taking a U-turn on its previous declaration that it was determined to carry out death sentences because it was key to deterring the rising militancy and terrorism engulfing Pakistan.
