SEBI had made mandatory for every mutual fund distributor to qualify NISM-Series-V-A: Mutual Fund Distributors Certification Examination. Formerly this exam was known as AMFI mutual fund module but now NISM conduct this exam.
Objectives of NISM-Series-V-A :-
- To test the understanding of mutual fund basic
- To test the understanding of tax treatment and legal procedures of mutual funds
- To test basic understanding of financial planning and knowledge of various investment options.
Examination structure
There will be 100 multiple choice questions of 1 marks each. 0.25 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer. Two hours will be allotted to solve 100 questions. Passing percentage of this exam is 50%. Result is provided after completion of exam.
Online Registration
Fee to appear for examination is Rs. 1250. AMFI have waived membership fee till 30 September 2013 after that membership fee would Rs. 3000 for every three years. Validity of this exam is three years, after that you need to appear again and apply for membership. PAN is necessary to become member.
